GT Management Services Capacity Development

Capacity Development is a process of change and impacts on three different levels:

  • Individuals
  • Organisations
  • Societal

The three levels are interlinked and interdependent and any work on capacity development must take this into account.

Time Bound

Due to being a process of change and about how transformations are managed consideration is given to the capacity and capabilities of people, organisations and society over a period of change. This means a focus on development should not just be a one off exercise and something that should be monitored to bet strengthen abilities, networks, skills and knowledge.

Results

There can be results in the short term and this is good news but they must be accepted with caution because new systems must be supported over the long term to achieve sustained success. Capacity Development is about who makes decisions? Why they make decisions? How they make decisions? Management of decisions and how change is deliver and then monitored and evaluated.
